Meade G. Burrows

Meade G. Burrows was born in New York city in 1954. Mr. Burrows received his B.A. from Binghamton University in New York in 1976, and his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law in 1979. Mr. Burrows was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1979. Mr. Burrows’ practice includes trial work in criminal defense in the District and Superior Courts, domestic relations and civil litigation, including personal injury. He is also certified as a mediator and can provide mediation services in divorce, custody and related family law matters.

Mr. Burrows was employed as a staff attorney at Northern Mississippi Rural Legal Services from 1979 – 1982 in Oxford, Mississippi. Mr. Burrows has been in private practice in Northampton since 1982. Mr. Burrows is a member of the Hampshire County and Massachusetts Bar Associations, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and National Lawyers Guild. Mr. Burrows chairs the Hampshire County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Committee. He is past president of the Board of Directors of Service Net, Inc., a provider of mental and developmental disability services, and is currently a member of its Board. He has been a member of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Civil Rights Advisory Committee and was a member of the Belchertown State School Human Rights Committee in the 1980’s. He was the recipient of the Massachusetts Bar Association Community Service Award in 1993 and is a fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation.
